• Notes

  Francisco Mandry came to Puerto Rico from the town of Ronda, Spain. He was of Jewish lineage by both his mother and father, "New Christians." This side of the family kept the tradition of circumsicing their sons, but as far as I know there are no other rituals that have been preserve. It is to be pointed our, al;s, that the name Mandry in Puerto Rico had two spellings. sometimes, mostly during the generation of my great-grandmother Modesta, the name was spelled with an i at the end. Still in Puerto Rico there are geographical locations that are called, Cabo Mandri, and Hacienda Mandri. The family, nowadays, spells the name with a Y.
