    • Domingo Franceschi was a Napoleonic soldier that came to Puerto Rico in 1820 under the auspices of the Cédula de Gracia. This law allowed a foreigner (non-Spanish) to settle in the islands and gave him land, if he brought money , slaves or possessions. It was used as a form to increase the population of the island.
